Through movement, mindfulness, and meaningful connections, we strive to create a city where everyone can move forward together.

Values

Dignity: We honor the inherent value of each person and their journey toward healing and growth.

Health: We promote health in spirit, mind, and body and believe that wellness is not a luxury but a necessity for all.

Resilience: We empower one another with consistency, accountability, humility, and encouragement so that each person can pursue their purpose and meaning in life.

Community: We create an authentic, inclusive environment to foster healthy connections with each other, our neighbors, and our world.

Joy: We celebrate all wins—big and small—because we recognize the fundamental role joy plays in holistic health.

FAQs

Is Street2Feet just a running group?

No! While we do have a run/walk program, that is only a fraction of what we do. In promoting movement, mindfulness, and sustainable healthy habits we also provide qigong, trauma-informed yoga, volunteer opportunities, education around topics like nutrition and sleep hygiene, and community building activities. We also have a monthly gratitude group wherein we share a healthy breakfast together, acknowledge our wins, and vocalize our appreciation.

Who can participate in Street2Feet?

Anyone! We have participants join us from Haven for Hope, SAMMinistries, Lifetime Recovery, Opportunity Recovery Group -IHRP, university groups including those found at University of the Incarnate Word, University of Texas at San Antonio, Trinity University and Our Lady of the Lake University, and those located in the broader community of San Antonio.

How do I get involved?

If you are interested in volunteering please fill out our interest form or email Amanda for a variety of options including walking with our clients at Garcia Park, joining us on community volunteer outings like at a 5K, organizing gear donations, or prepping our monthly breakfast for our gratitude group. If you want to participate in S2F, you are welcome to show up at Garcia Park on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and most Saturdays (community outings permitting) from 7:30-8:30 AM to join our run/walk group! We can provide you with more info on engaging with the entirety of the program from there.

What if I am worried about keeping up or being “out of shape?”

At Street2Feet we strive to be a welcoming, encouraging community and ensure nobody gets left behind. Accessibility is a foundational value for us and we want to provide our program to anyone regardless of age, mobility, experience, or physical ability. Our classes are trauma-informed and beginner friendly. On days we meet at Garcia Park there are different distance options provided ranging from moving back and forth on the sidewalk, to a shorter loop that is about .2 miles long, to a longer loop option that is 1 kilometer or .67 miles long. Both our classes held at Haven for Hope and Garcia Park are wheelchair accessible. Any mobility aids are welcome and we can provide further accommodations if needed. If you have any questions or concerns please reach out to Amanda.

How do I donate to Street2Feet?

For any monetary donations please click here or email Gabriella for more info. For in-kind donations or if you would like to donate new or gently used athletic shoes and gear you can email Amanda to coordinate a drop off location and time. We also have Street2Feet donation bins in IRun and Fleet Feet stores around San Antonio where you can drop off items. Additionally, you can always donate items at Haven for Hope’s warehouse - just make sure they know it is for Street2Feet specifically!
