Part of S2F's programming is promoting health in spirt, mind, and body. This includes community outings as an opportunity for our clients to apply the skills and knowledge they practice with us during our mindfulness classes and 5k training sessions. Prior to taking the group out on a hike we review hiking etiquette and reiterate the importance of movement as medicine. Taking our clients out on hikes is always a highlight for them, whether it be for time spent with their community, getting to spend time in nature, or to learn and see new things!

District 8 5k: June 18, 2022 Free community event!
Another incredible weekend for our group to get out into the community, practice their 3-day-a-week 5k training, and walk/run in this FREE community 5k for District 8. Our group had an absolute blast--just look at all their smiling faces AFTER the race, not to mention the very cool medals!
Thank you to our interns and newest volunteer who who were honored to run/walk with a few of our program participants! Movement is medicine.
San Antonio Road Runner's Women's Race: July 16
Street2Feet ladies hit the pavement for this year's SARR's Women's Race. We had ladies run/walk and competitive power walk! They did amazing and one of our ladies placed THIRD in the competitive powerwalk category--way to go, Beth!! A huge thanks to our guys who handmade sounds for ALL the runners and were out there in full force with their cowbells! Another great Saturday morning implementing exercise, community, and service as medicine!
August 6, 2022: Fit Family Finale 5k @ Brooks City Base
Our group of 12 did an incredible job walking and running this 5k hosted by San Antonio's Fit Family Challenge at Brook's City Base. We are so grateful for these FREE community 5ks where our participants can implement their training in community. It is always a treat to watch them cross the finish line! Whether it was their fifth or first 5k, our whole group crushed it--just check out those smiles!! Thank you to our volunteer, Elaine, who ran once again, alongside one of our guys! Movement is medicine.
Street2Feet had the privilege of volunteering with Rise Above Hardship for their first annual ruck. Our participants helped course marshal, handed out water, and many participated on the walk back. It was a great morning spent being of service and supporting another non-profit who is doing amazing things for the community!
